I made this print for my cousin's family who love Halloween! I'm really starting to love working with paper art, so this piece is a combination of paper cut-outs and cartooning. I constructed each piece out of paper, layered them, then finished the piece in photoshop which flattened it a little bit.
Makes me excited for halloween already! Now what should my costume be this year?...
What's in a name?
Hey-o everyone!
This is the first post on my new blog! Since I got married and my name changed, I decided I needed a new, up-to-date one.
But I've been having a lot of problems with my new married name, especially when trying to name my new website and blog.
Problem #1: Turns out the domain alyssascott.com is already taken by a dating site. My grandpa was the one to discover this, when he tried to search for my website and was a little....shocked... at what he found. I found some concerned messages on my answering machine.
Problem #2: Next I figured I could just use my middle initial to set me apart. That would be alyssasscott.com. Now what do you see when you look at that all together? Maybe that domain would be a better name for the dating site? Turns out with the middle initial of S. and the last name Scott, I probably won't be able to use my initials for much of anything. Although it is fun to initial official documents and things like that.
So now you know how my website and this blog got the name of alyssascottart.com. It was quite a process!
Here's to a future of blogposts full of creativity and fun!
