IF- Carry

For this week's Illustration Friday, maybe I'm taking on a creepier tone than I usually do, but I kinda like that. My first comp is below, and the final composition I ended up going with is above.

Paper Monkey

I did another paper project over the weekend! I had a ton of fun with all the leaves and decorative design in the back.  Here is the little monkey!

Paper Horse Carousel (IF:Suspend)

It's finally done! This is my first attempt at a full-fledged paper craft illustration! I've done paper characters and simpler compositions (like the frankenstien piece), but nothing quite this scale. Wow, it was so time-consuming, but so fun at the same time. In a way I felt like I was going back to my elementary days when I would make paper accessories for my beanie babies. Just lots of paper and glue!

Finishing this project was great timing too because I think it fits with this week's Illustration Friday theme of "Suspend". The piece is all about the horses suspended in air from the top of the carousel.  Every child who rides them gets that weightless feeling too.  It makes for some great summer memories!
